Marketing – Creating Campaign

In this article we will talk about how to create a new marketing campaign in BuddyCRM.

We start off in Marketing, selecting ‘create campaign’ top-right.

Campaign detail

The fields that require completion will vary based on the ‘campaign type’ you have selected, however we will run through them below. For an overview of the type of campaigns available, check out this article.

Campaign module name (email type only): if you are making an email for use in the Cases area, then choose ‘case‘. For anything else, choose ‘other‘.

Campaign name: This is an internal name for your campaign. It would be best to make this as easily understood internally as possible

Campaign subject: For email campaigns, this will be sent as the subject of the email. (you can just copy the campaign name if not making an email campaign)

Cost: This is the total cost of the campaign to your business. This can be used for tracking return on investment, as it gives a cost against the campaign that can be compared to won opportunities attributed to the campaign

Campaign owner: the user within your business that has ultimate ownership of the campaign

Start date and end date: the dates that your campaign is running for. This can be used to track non-email campaigns, to give awareness of when a campaign is running.

Parent campaign: it is possible to link a campaign to another campaign to create a parent/child relationship.

Contact (recipient): In this selection you can choose the segments or lists that you want to send an email campaign to. You can select as many as you like

Contact (sender): This is free text and will be how the sender name appears for an email campaign when the email delivers

Who can see the campaign: This selector sets the users within your business that can see the details of a campaign

Reply to: This is the email address that the recipient of an email can reply to. We typically suggest using alias email addresses for this purpose, which we can guide on the setup for.

Notes: A big notes field for entering any useful information about a campaign for future reference.

Enter all fields and hit ‘save’ at the bottom.
