Google Maps Integration

Summary

This guide will demonstrate how to use the Google maps integration within BuddyCRM. Once Google maps has been enabled on your account, you will be able to create pinned maps based on PAL searches.

Pinned maps can be created from any type of account or lead PAL search (if the record has the correct address fields for Google to reference).

The most common searches are by city, county, or country, but other custom searches can be used such as company name or postcode.

Please see a full guide on PAL search here:

PAL Search

PAL Overview

At the top of the Lead and Accounts module, you will see Account PAL, click the down arrow to expand this feature.

Once expanded, you will see additional drop-down boxes.

Type – Select company name.

OwnerName – If you want the search to target accounts owned by a specific person, click this, and select one or multiple users. Leave this blank if you want to search against all records owners.

More – This is where you will create bespoke filters to narrow down your search. For example, by city or county.

The example below demonstrates a PAL search for any companies where the city is Philadelphia.

Once filled with your required criteria, press search.

You will now see there is a Maps option on the right, above the search results. Click Maps and the search results will now display in a new window.

The new window will look like the image below. Each pin will have a link back to the BuddyCRM record, once on the record you can also navigate to that location via Google maps.

Advanced PAL is a more intrusive search which will allow you to bring up specific results.

Next to the standard PAL search you will see the Advanced option, this can be used to narrow down your query even further.

Once you have clicked on Advanced, the search bar will change as shown below.

In the Search Bar, press Space. This will bring up some suggested fields that can be found in your leads or accounts. Select any of the fields which you require or type your selected field, then press space again. You can select the option to Equal or be similar to the result. For the last part, enter your desired search result in quotation marks, for example (CompanyPostcode LIKE “BA”) will return any record where the postcode contains “BA”.

Save PAL Query

You can then save the Query to the system so you can run this again in the future. To Save, simply click Save PAL. You can also view your Saved queries, click on the saved queries icon and you will see the list you have created.

You can also amend what you see within the results area. Simply, click the Cog Icon then select your fields.

Using Google for Marketing

Segments can now be created to include contacts based on distance from a particular postcode.

Go to Marketing  > Contacts > Create Segment.

Against Account or Lead pick the Distance condition, the desired postcode and distance in miles.

This segment can now be used in marketing campaigns
